Access for person in a wheelchair

wheelchair path

Did you know that Tygerberg Nature Reserve has a wheelchair friendly path?

The friends work team finished the construction of the 500m long wheelchair path in the Tygerberg Nature Reserve. The opening took place on Heritage Day 24 September 2008.

The path purposely designed for wheelchairs that allows wheelchair bound people or those unable to tackle the hiking paths, the opportunity to enjoy a little nature and to experience the fantastic views from the top of the Tygerberg Hill.

The path  starts at the picnic area on top of the hill. There are lookout points along the way offering views of the suburbs and Table Mountain and the 2 seas, Melkbos, False Bay, Stellenbosch, Paarl. There is also a wheelchair-friendly table so there is no reason why people in wheelchairs should not enjoy a picnic with all the views!
