In Memoriam: Pat McGuinness

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Pat McGuinness passed away on 28 April 2013.

Pat was a longtime Friends member, a Friends committee member and was granted Honorary Membership in November 2012. He will be remembered as a true gentleman and a man who loved nature. Pat was very active with the Friends in the hacking group, birding, and for many years was responsible for organising the speakers for the monthly enviro-talks. Pat could always be relied upon to assist when needed.

Pat will be remembered for his integrity, always smiling, and his willingness to be of help at all times. The Friends will miss him. We extend our sincere condolences to his family.

    Thanks Pat for the many hours we spend together on the Tygerberg and the many other Hills. Your patient guidance,love and respect made you an unforgetable rolemodel that will always be near and very dear to my heart. Rest in Peace.
