Friends of the Tygerberg Hills was established in April 2003
Friends of Tygerberg Hills are concerned people who work with the conservation of the nature reserve and who encourage greater public awareness of the value of the area for the benefit of present and future generations to come.
The Tygerberg Hills is part of our natural heritage and home to a wide variety of plants, animals and birds. Friends support and assist the local authorities by volunteering time and effort to assist in the maintenance of this natural asset. To this end all the Friends activities are done in partnership with the Tygerberg Nature Reserve manager.
Friends help the management of the reserve in every possible way. Friends can do their bit for the reserve and surroundings by raising funds to finance approved projects, organize walks, share their knowledge with other friends and visitors, educate, train and provide technical skills and labour.
Friends of Tygerberg Hills membership is available to individuals, senior citizens, students, families and companies.
Annual membership entitles you to member benefits for the year (July to June).
- Free access into the Tygerberg Nature Reserve for your own walk and picnic.
- Free entry to arranged talks, presentations, hikes and cannon firings.
